Christmas Pictures

Since my Brother made the comment that I would not keep this up-to-date...I have to prove him wrong by at least updating this with Christmas pictures.

Christmas at the Franklin house hold was wonderful. We went to Christmas Eve service at the Methodist church to see my Dad's family. For the most part, the kids did well. However, Jake spent most of the service in the hall way with Leigh. Jenna played peek-a-boo with the people in the pew behind us. Megan loved all of the singing and pretty decorations.

Christmas morning, Jake was up at 5:30, Jenna at 7 and we actually had to wake Megan up at 7:30. Nana and Bumpa made it to our house around 8. The kids had a great time opening all of their gifts.

We then headed next door to eat Christmas Breakfast at the Backus house. Then, it was back to our house to play with our new toys and all take a nap. Around 4 we went to Nana and Bumpas to eat with Uncle Matt, Aunt Jenny, Baby Adam and the Smiths. The Backus family came over for a visit and the kids loved playing with all of their cousins. It was a busy, but very fun day.

The next day, Mini and Grumpy drove up through the Icy weather from North Carolina to spend Christmas with us. The question is...where do we put all the new things?

Here are some more pictures from the Christmas festivities

And...So, it Begins

I've been wanting to Start a Blog for awhile now...the trouble was finding the time.

Today, there are no excuses. There is a sheet of ice on the ground outside, Leigh is sleeping, and Katie is upstairs watching the kids. Of course, there are a million other things that I should be doing, but I need to start carving out some "me" time. This is something that I will enjoy doing, and I know that all of you reading will enjoy the pictures and updates of the kids.

The kids change so quickly, and I have been horrid with keeping track of everything they do. The past 1 1/2 years has definitely been a blur. I think that we are just now getting to the point where we can "breathe".

Here is a brief update on the kids:

Megan turned 4 in October. She is a very bright little girl and is currently going to Preschool at Moccasin Elementary. Megan LOVES school. She is a wonderful Big Sister and is very helpful around the house. She has a wonderful imagination and loves to paint and color. Her Santa request this year was a "Cool" Guitar. (At school they learned Jingle Bell Rock and all of the kids loved playing the Air Guitar). She had Leigh and I cracking up last night when she came into the room and said "Who is Ready to Rock Out". She then started jamming on her Guitar, getting down on her knees and even rolling around on her back. Anyone that knows Megan, knows that this is not typical, shy Megan behavior. It was Great.

The Twins will be 2 in April. Parenting twins is quite the challenge, but it is all worth it. However, we wouldn't have survived without the help of our family. Jake and Jenna are definitely polar opposites.

Jenna is a little "Mini Me". I finally have one that looks like me. Jenna is our snuggler and cuddler. She has a smile and a laugh that can light up the room. However, she also has quite the temper and can change from one to the other in a flash...this is also a characteristic which Leigh says she gets from me.... Jenna loves music, dancing and singing...among her favorites are "The Wheels on the Bus" and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star".

If Jenna is a Mini Me....Jake is the Mini Leigh. Jake is definitley 100% boy. He loves Sports and his favorites are Basketball and Football...the rougher, the better. He always keeps us on our toes...it is amazing what his little brain can think up to do. Jake tries so hard to talk, and does get out Mama, Dada, Mea-Mea and Nenna. Jake is a big fan of "Melmo" and the Wiggles and loves to follow along and imitate whatever he sees on TV. His new Trick is jumping off of the ground with both feet.

As you can imagine, there is never a dull moment around our house.

I hope you enjoy
